The Lumix S5 was presented in September 2020 and addresses two of the main criticisms of the Lumix S1 family: weight and size. About 300 grams lighter and slightly smaller than the MFT flagship GH5, but hardly any changes on the inside, compared to its larger sister model S1.
The Panasonic Lumix S5 offers two SD memory card slots, whereby only the upper slot can fully utilize fast UHS-II memory cards. For the maximum possible write speed during burst shooting, we recommend using such SD cards with an UHS-II interface. Even though, much cheaper SD memory cards with U3/V30 speed class are perfectly fine to record 4K video.
